Every Green Herb

I find the subject of herbal teas to be an interesting and rewarding subject to study.

The Bible first mentions herbs in chapter 1 of the book of Genesis -
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:
30 and to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so.
31 And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

The Bible last mention of herbs, “the leaves of the tree”, is in the last chapter of the last book in the Bible -
Revelation 22
1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,
2 in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve manner of fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
The subject of herbs is only directly addressed in these two places in the Holy Bible.
Based upon this, I take seriously the idea that herbs, brewed as tea, has restorative and healing properties.  Much more to come.
